Out and about

On Wednesday night we met some friends at the zoo for our first Zoo Tunes concert with the kids. It was so much fun. Jillian's little friend Ginna was there and they had a blast dancing to the music, running all over the place and meeting the "mud monster." Rather than bringing in our own meals, we enjoyed pre-ordered boxed dinners from Metropolitan Market. Yummy sandwiches (PB&J for the girls!), sweet potato chips, juicy nectarine and sugar cookies in the shape of zoo animals. The performer, Andrew Bird, was AWESOME! I would definitely go see him again next year.

Tonight we headed down to the Ballard Seafoodfest for some dinner and dancing. We left home pretty late (6:30) because Nathan took a power nap this afternoon. Kind of risky on our part especially since moods can be unpredictable at that hour! Thankfully the stars aligned and we had a great time. We ate a cajun blackened salmon burger, corn on the cob, french fries, a gyro (Jill ate most of this!) and a delicious strawberry crepe for dessert. Yum! After standing in lines for all of our food, we didn't get to listen to too much music, but Jillian made the most of it by dancing her heart out. That girl loves live music. All in all it was a very successful evening despite the late start.

Here are a few favorite pics from Zoo Tunes and this weekend...

Jillian and Ginna - dancing the night away at Zoo Tunes
(notice they are wearing the same dress in different colors - total coincidence!)

Jillian set and ready to go on her first ride in the bike trailer! (mixed reviews)

A little blurry, but too cute not to post! :)
