Oh the things you think you'll never do...

Well last night was an eventful one! Little miss Jillian decided when we tried to put her to bed at 7:00pm that she just wasn't ready. When at 9:00pm she was still fussing (with real tears!), Justin and I loaded her in to the car and drove around until she fell asleep. When we returned home she stayed asleep in her car seat for about 10 minutes and then the crying began again. Oh dear! I tried feeding her again and that didn't work. I tried rocking her and that didn't work. I tried the always successful swaddle and that didn't work. All of my new parenting tricks - and NONE of them worked. Ahhh, but then I remembered the car seat. I swaddled her up and plunked her down in the car seat and she was asleep within 2 seconds! That was at 10:30pm. When I woke up at 3:45am (!) I immediately panicked, but was pleasantly surprised to find her still soundly sleeping in her car seat by our bed. Needless to say, she slept until 5:30am!! Woo hoo!

Tonight we tried the pre-bed bath, hoping that it would relax her. It didn't work quite as well as we had hoped. Justin is currently trying to rock her into a drowsy state. Hmmm, where is that car seat?...
