Wow. Whoever said the twos are terrible was right. Lately Jillian oscillates back and forth between sweet and sassy. You just never know what you are going to get when she wakes up in the morning. This weekend I heard a lot of "I don't like you Mommy." (so sad), "Don't talk to me that way," and "Don't look at me." The good news is that she is advanced in her ability to clearly communicate how she is feeling!
In addition to her sassiness, Jillian has recently decided to be very opinionated about what she wears in the morning. I'm not complaining - if it will get her dressed more quickly, I'll let her wear whatever she wants! This morning it was the butterfly tights, kitty skirt (hidden under the long green shirt), purple turtleneck, long green shirt and pink socks ("No, not the light pink ones Mom, the bright pink ones!"). She wanted to wear her jellies too, but we told her it would probably rain today so she needed to wear shoes. After a bit of whining she gave in. I originally had her hair in cute little pigtails, but she made me take them out and re-do it. She wanted the half up, half down look that we do every day. Oh well, I actually think this mis-matched outfit suits her much better than anything I would have chosen for her.
Meanwhile I am cherishing the time spent with Nathan. He's flexible - lets me choose his cute little clothes. He's predictable - smiles all the time and only cries when he wants something obvious (dry diaper, sleep or food). AND he isn't able to tell me he doesn't like me. Not yet anyway. :)

oh man...welcome to my world sister! Sassy, opinionated with her own sense of style. True girl!
I think it's a great look...Every girl needs her own style and she is just starting early :)
I love it. Actually, one of my favorite stages that kids go through is when they want to choose their own mismatched clothes. I think it is hilarious ... maybe I'll reconsider when it is my own kid.
I remember one time when my cousin's kids were little, I was there when her son told her he hated her because she wouldn't let him do something. She just smiled and said, "Well, that's too bad because I love you so much." I thought she handled it so well - I'll always remember that.
Anyway, Mols - I like you. I think you're great. And, I think Jillian really does too.
Loves,
Jinx
