Got back last night from our Winthrop weekend. We cross country skied 5 miles, gaining 1300 feet in elevation, to arrive at our cozy little cabin. Our gear was shuttled in via snowmobile. Four couples, a really warm stove and lots of good food, drink and poker! Woke up Sunday to light snow. So picturesque. Skiing out was harding than skiing in - packs on our backs and lots of snowplowing. We're not as young as we used to be! All we could think about on the way back to Seattle was Jillian and our comfy bed - it's good to be home!
