We have reached another milestone! In preparation for my return to work in January and after much soul searching about pumping vs. going the formula route, I decided to begin weening Jillian from her day time feedings about a week ago. As of today she is eating two (and soon to be three) meals of formula a day. It took a few frustrating days to get Jillian used to the bottle, but with a little coaxing she'll down 5-6 oz without much complaint. Not her preferred method of eating, but she'll take it any way she can get it (as evidenced by her chubby little cheeks!).
I must say that I have mixed emotions about this milestone - on one hand I'm so proud of Jillian for making this transition. She is such an easy going little one. On the other hand I'm very sad knowing that I won't be sharing every meal with Jillian in a few short weeks. I will definitely miss those big blue eyes staring up at me. I must continue to remind myself what a blessing it has been to spend the last four months at home full time with Jillian. Although January will bring changes and some sadness, a look on the bright side - Jillian will have yet another big person and several small people to love her and I will have someone very special to look forward to at the end of each work day. Lucky me. :)

Yeah! She did it!
I remember some of the emotions your going through from when I had to go back to work after Emery was born. But I love your attitude...yes, she will be loved during the day and well taken care of...and just think, she has two very loving parents who are committed to each other and her. She couldnt be more blessed!
